The SAP Data Analyst: Mining role at AECI Mining involves working with SAP systems to manage, analyze, and optimize data processes within a mining context. This position focuses on extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from SAP into various data storage systems, such as data warehouses and data lakes. You will be responsible for ensuring data integrity and availability through the development and maintenance of data pipelines. The role also includes analyzing SAP data to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that can drive data-driven decision-making within the organization. You will work closely with multiple teams, including development and business units, to design data processes and improve financial data management. Additionally, maintaining SAP master data and ensuring compliance with data governance policies are key aspects of this role.

Responsibilities

• ETL Processes: Extract, transform, and load data from SAP systems into data warehouses and data lakes to maintain data quality and availability
• Data Pipeline Maintenance: Develop and maintain data pipelines to ensure consistent data flow and integrity
• Data Analysis: Analyze SAP data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that can inform business decisions
• Reporting & Dashboards: Create comprehensive reports and dashboards to present data findings to stakeholders in a clear and actionable format
• Data Governance: Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance and data integrity
• Collaboration: Work with team members across departments to develop data-driven solutions and ensure alignment on data requirements
• SAP Master Data Management: Maintain SAP master data, including customers, vendors, GL, fixed assets, and transport rates
• Transaction Processing: Execute all necessary transaction processes to maintain operational records and databases
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with relevant stakeholders to gather detailed data requirements for SAP systems
• Financial Data Design: Engage with development and business teams to design and improve financial data processes
• Internal Controls: Assist in identifying internal control weaknesses and work on implementing opportunities for improvement
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to Safety, Health, and Environmental standards at all times

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
• A Master’s degree in a relevant field would be advantageous
• 3+ years of experience as an SAP Data Analyst or a similar role
• Certifications in SAP or data analysis
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques
• Strong understanding of SAP systems, including SAP HANA, SAP BW, and SAP BusinessObjects
• Experience in Data Management, Data Warehousing, Data Lake Technologies, and Data Analysis Tools
